08-09 Tryouts Complete
As in years past
the Islanders (EHF "AAA") and Team Dynamic (EHF "AA") are holding joint
tryouts. Whether you sign up to tryout for the Islanders or Team Dynamic, you
will be seen by both organizations and their respective coaching staff. After
tryouts are completed and evaluations are discussed you may receive a
call by either organization. As an example, if you signed up for the 95
Islanders' tryouts and based on evaluations you did not make the 95
Islanders, you very well may be called from a member of the 95 Team Dynamic
coaching staff to keep your child in the organization. For more information on
Team Dynamic visit

Show Up Strong In Quebec
From February 14th to the 24th, the 1995 Middlesex Islanders, coached by Steve
Cameron, took their puck game on the road, competing in the 49th Quebec
International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament held at the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec
City.
With over 100 teams from around the world at the event the atmosphere inside the
Quebec Colisee was electric.
Many former NHL Players were coaching youth teams, among them, Mario Lemieux,
Claude Lemieux, Pat Lafontaine, and Mark Messier.
The Middlesex Islanders won 3 out of 5 games, picking up victories over Gatineau

IYHO's Philosophy
The Islander Organization exists to allow young people the opportunity to
participate in a competitive league, to allow the players to be involved in an
environment that focuses on skill development and team-based responsibilities
with the intention of developing within the players a life long love for the
game. Our goal is to develop all players on an equal basis based on teaching the
game from different perspectives- individual offense and defense, team-based
offense and defense and most importantly how players should win or lose with
dignity and humility.
In either case, the opportunity to experience and develop " lessons in life "
will be in the forefront of our coaches minds.
Lt.
Derek Hines Memorial Trust (link)
A former North Shore Raider and
Middlesex Islander, Derek graduated from St Johns Prep in Danvers and the United
States Military Academy at West Point, Class of 2003, where he excelled in
hockey, academics and leadership. Derek was captain of the hockey team his
senior year. Derek lost his life in Afghanistan on September 1, 2005. Derek
leaves behind a wonderful family and countless friends. We as a community and a
country owe our freedom to extraordinary young men like Derek.
